Introducing, YASMINE™

Your Total Plant Boost. Powered by BSF Biology.

Natural resilience for stronger, healthier plants YASMINE™ offers growers a planet-smart charge of positive goodness to fuel increased plant strength, root vitality, and natural resilience in your plants.

Plants face constant pressure – from erratic weather and repotting stress to pest challenges. YASMINE™ delivers a targeted biostimulant boost derived directly from Black Soldier Fly biology.

Formulated with BSF chitosan – a natural biopolymer carrying an inherent positive electrical charge – YASMINE™ works with plant biology to enable and maximise natural defence mechanisms, strengthen cellular walls, and unlock vigorous growth from root to tip.

Feed the wild. Complete the circle.

Responsibly made in Lincolnshire from transformed surplus food waste, YASMINE™ turns Black Soldier Fly biology into a ready-to-use plant biostimulant designed to support stronger roots, healthier growth and natural resilience.

Powered by BSF-derived chitosan, a UK-first, YASMINE™ helps plants not only activate their own mechanisms but also supercharge them, so plants can respond better to periods of active growth, repotting, weather stress and pest pressure. Fully traceable, fully accountable and made with circularity at its core, it is designed for conscientious growers.

The owner-operator of the UK’s largest operational commercial-scale insect Biotechnology Business, FKS, was built to turn local surplus food and farm waste into valuable, low-emissions products. We do this through bioconversion: using the Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens) to convert organic waste into useful co-products, like YASMINE™. In plain terms, we take unnecessary waste and transform it into ingredients that support a more resilient food system for the UK.

Built by BSF biology to help plants thrive

Cellular Strength & Active Growth

Stimulates natural metabolic pathways, encouraging sturdier stems, lush foliage, and uniform development across indoor and outdoor plants.

Root Vigour & Establishment

Enhances root-zone uptake, improving nutrient transport and accelerating establishment after transplanting.

Built-in Environmental Resilience

Primes plants to handle environmental stress—including drought, temperature swings, and pest pressure—without synthetic chemicals.

100% Circular & Sustainable

Derived from upcycled surplus inputs transformed by British insect bioconversion. Safe, non-toxic, and biodegradable.

Available in ready-to-use and concentrate formats

YASMINE™ is available in flexible formats for both retail and commercial growing environments. For garden centres, retailers and consumer-facing ranges, the ready-to-use 250ml spray offers a simple, no-dilution plant boost for houseplants, garden beds, borders, edible crops and shrubs.

For professional growers and controlled-environment and hydroponic producers, YASMINE™ is also available as a 2% BSF-derived chitosan concentrate, designed for low-dose use and evidence-led application protocols across high-value crops.

The ready-to-use format can be applied as a foliar spray or root drench during active growth, repotting or periods of plant stress, while the concentrated format gives buyers and growers greater flexibility for replicated crop trials, commercial production systems and crop-specific testing.

Chitin, chitosan and Black Soldier Fly biology

Chitin is a natural structural material found in fungi, crustacean shells and insect exoskeletons. In black soldier fly frass, it comes mainly from the skins the larvae shed as they grow.

Chitosan is closely related, but it is not quite the same thing. It is made when chitin is converted through a process called deacetylation, changing how the material behaves and making it useful across agriculture, food production and other industries.

The important distinction for Yasmine is simple: it contains chitosan produced from chitin through deacetylation. Research into chitosan and its applications is developing quickly, but as is the FKS way, we will always separate promising science from proven product claims.

Ready-to-use retail spray

A simple 250ml format for consumer use across indoor and outdoor plants, with no dilution required.

Professional concentrate

A 2% BSF-derived chitosan stock solution for hydroponic, controlled-environment and commercial growing trials.

Flexible application

Suitable for foliar spray and root drench use, depending on crop, growing system and application protocol.

Trial-led development

Available for buyers and growers looking to establish crop-specific responses, including root vigour, crop uniformity, nutrient-use performance and abiotic-stress resilience.

How to use YASMINE™
