FKS to host British Chambers of Commerce Director General for industry roundtable and site visit
This September, FKS is pleased to be welcoming Shevaun Haviland CBE, Director General, British Chambers of Commerce, as the team is set to host an exclusive Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce member event at its pioneering insect farming and biotechnology facility in Fleet, Holbeach.

The industry roundtable and site visit will bring together businesses and key stakeholders from across Lincolnshire’s food, fresh produce, agriculture, horticulture and related supply chains to discuss the challenges, opportunities and future direction of the sector.
Taking place at FKS, the UK’s first fully operational commercial-scale Black Soldier Fly farming and organic waste bioconversion facilities, the event will offer attendees the chance to explore circular economy innovation in action while contributing to wider conversations about regional growth, resilience and sustainable supply chains.
Organised by Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, the event will begin with a focused roundtable discussion, followed by an introduction to FKS from our Founder and CEO, Julian Knight, who will share an overview of the business, its circular economy model and the partnerships supporting its continued growth, before guests are invited to take part in a guided tour of the facility.
The team is excited to be giving attendees a first-hand look at how it’s using Black Soldier Fly biology to transform unavoidable food surplus into high-value products that support UK agriculture, horticulture and animal nutrition.

The event will also welcome representatives from the British Chambers of Commerce, including Shevaun Haviland CBE, Director General.
Shevaun has led the British Chambers of Commerce since April 2021, having previously worked at the heart of Government as Head of Business Engagement at Number 10 Downing Street and Head of the Inclusive Economy Partnership in the Cabinet Office.
The roundtable will explore the future of Lincolnshire’s fresh produce sector, the challenges and opportunities facing the industry, and the importance of strengthening regional supply chains.
For participating businesses, it offers an opportunity to share experiences, raise key issues and contribute to discussions that can help inform wider policy conversations and decision-making at national level.
